Over 40,000 sports-related eye injuries occur each year. But there is some good news ... Upwards of 90% of these eye injuries can be prevented by wearing the appropriate protective eyewear.

Sports like basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball involve objects traveling up to 60 miles per hour (sometimes even faster!). But flying objects aren’t the only hazard -- There are plenty of eye injuries that involve pokes and jabs by fingers and elbows, especially in sports where players are in close contact with each other. Basketball, for example, has a very high rate of eye injuries.

But we're not simply interested in protecting your eyes from injury, though it's a big part of what we do. We are also able to put your prescription in your choice of sports goggles, with some exceptions. This will enable you to see your best while you're enjoying a nice pickup game of basketball, playing some volleyball in a recreational league or in an organized soccer tournament!

It's important to keep in mind that sports goggles, in particular, need to be properly fitted to ensure a comfortable experience with your protective eyewear. Our experienced opticians will help ensure this perfect fit during the ordering process.

Should you experience an eye injury, we are fully capable of handling eye emergencies here at our office. Simply call us and we'll take it from there!
